RESPONSIBILITY TO CHANGE DIVISIONS

If I select "Merge Me"
The QBJJC reserves the right to adjust registrations where appropriate - it is the policy of the AFBJJ & QBJJC not to have categories with only one competitor. All one competitor categories will be abandoned.

After the Last Day to Check, Change & Withdraw, competitors who do not have anyone in their division group may be merged with another division. All athletes who remain solo in their divisions once brackets are released means had no default merges available to them, and therefore there are no matches available for that competitor. They will be withdrawn from the competition and receive a full coupon credit for entry to any future event of ours.

I realise that I may be merged into another weight, age, belt or even gender category to ensure that I have a match, and that this will be done to the next closest division available, and wave my right for a refund in this event of this occurring! However any competitor that the QBJJC is unable to be merged at their discretion is eligible to receive either a 100% refund if done before the Early Bird deadline or after this date as a coupon credit for a future event, if they selected "Merge Me" and waive their rights to a medal and points.

Competitors realise that they may be merged into another weight or age category to ensure that they have a match, and that this will be done to the next closest division available, and wave their right for a refund in the event of this occurring! However any competitor that the QBJJC is unable to merged is eligible to receive a credit for a future event.

On rare occasions competitors who are matched may be merged up to match with a single competitor category.

I also understand that the option for the QBJJC to merge divisions is only available during the matchmkaing and scheduling phase and that competitors cannot be merged after this time, nor at the competiton.

Guideline of Merging Divisions
Kids Merges: Kids will be merged up no more than 2 weight classes and 2 ages classes.
Juvenile Merges: Juveniles will be merged up no more than 3 weight classes. Juvenile Divisions will not be merged into Adult Divisions.
Adult Merges: Adults will be merged up no more than 2 weight classes and may also be merged into a Master Division if this is possible based on year of birth.
Master Merges: Masters will be merged up no more than 2 weight classes and may also be merged into any other age division that is possible based on their year of birth. However Brown & Black Belt No-Gi competitors registered into Masters Divisions will not be merged in Adult divisions, due to the different rules.

If I select "Remain & 50% Credit"
I REALISE IT IS MY OWN RESPONSIBILITY TO CHANGE DIVISIONS OR WITHDRAW IF I DO NOT HAVE A MATCH!
Competitors in Single Fighter Categories are responsible to choose who they compete against and can change to the division they choose. Kids/Juvenile may go up in Age & change weight, Adults/Masters may go down in Age & change weight. Or they can instead decide to stay where they are and only recieve only a 50% coupon credit & be withdrawn from the event. The choice is yours.

Competitors have up to and including the Last Day to Check, Change & Withdraw to decide, and or be refunded 100% of registration as coupon credit. If you select "Remain & 50% Credit" and do not have a match you will not be moved and if unmatched you will only recieve a 50% coupon credit.

Remain & 50% Credit
Withdraw before the Last Day to Check, Change & Withdraw deadline = 100% coupon credit
Remain in a Single Competitor Division after after the the Last Day to Check, Change & Withdraw deadline = 50% coupon credit

SINGLE CATEGORY COMPETITORS
The QBJJC reserves the right to adjust registrations where appropriate - it is the policy of the QBJJC not to have categories with only one competitor. All one competitor categories will be abandoned. Single Category Competitors will not recieve a medal, national points or team points, instead they will be refunded (part or in full) with a coupon credit and withdrawn from the division.

We encourage everyone to login by or before the last day of registration and check their details along with the competitor lists. Do not wait until after this time when the brackets are published and locked in with the schedule created to confirm such details as it will be too late.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

Age Selection
The AFBJJ calculates competitor date of births as current year minus year of birth in alignment with IBJJF rules. ie. current year-year of birth = age division eligible to enter.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

Weight Selection
Weights in the drop down box are represented as net with the appropriate Gi or No Gi allowance already included in division e.g. the 82.3kg division already includes the 3.3kg allowance of the 79kg division. Competitors must be under the weight division when they step onto the official scales or they will be disqualified immediately.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

Weigh In
Competitors should present themselves at the weigh in and uniform inspection station no less than 30min before their scheduled match. Also important to note the schedule is dynamic and changes throughout the day, please check your times regularly to ensure that you do not miss your weigh in and become disqualified. Once competitors are weighed in they are required to stay inside the competition area and are responsible to ensuring they are able to hear their name called to compete. Leaving the mat area they are scheduled to compete on, wearing ear phones, similar devices, or not responding when called to compete will result in immediate disqualification.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

Junior No Gi
Due to the current AFBJJ policy regarding Junior No Gi, RESULTS and TEAM POINTS will be listed, However NO RANKING POINTS will be allocated for Junior No Gi divisions. All other divisions will be listed.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

The QBJJC recognises that Black Belts & Head Instructors, will know which is the correct rank to graduate a Junior to in the year they turn 16. No Juveniles or Adults may wear Junior coloured belts (Grey, Yellow, Orange or Green) - Instead they must wear either White, Blue or Purple Belts at their instructors discretion!

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

Academy/Team Name:
Competitors are responsible to ensure they have registered under the correct academy/team name. Once registration is completed this cannot be altered.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

Team Points:
Competitors in single fighter divisions will not be allocated team points and will instead be withdrawn from the competition and recieve a coupon credit for future events.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

Teams will be ranked in the following order.
First Consideration - Team points will be allocated based on Gold, Silver & Bronze placings. The Team with the most points overall will win the first place, Followed by the team with second highest overall points in second and the team with third highest points in third.
Second consideration - In the event a team is tied on points, ranking between the tied teams will be determined by the better ranking going to the team with the most gold medals. If it is still tied then the team with the most silver medals will receive the better ranking. Then if it is still tied then the team with the most bronze medals will receive the better ranking. If it is still tied then the team with the most wins will recieve the better ranking.

RISK AND INSURANCE

The competitor and/or their guardian (if under 18yrs) acknowledges and agrees that the competitor shall be responsible to obtain all or any insurance for loss and/or medical, hospital, life, income protection, personal, property, or any other risk or damage that the competitor may cause or suffer, (whether directly or indirectly) and the competitor covenants that he acknowledges that any failure by the competitor to fully insure himself against any accident, damage, injury, loss, whatsoever, howsoever arising shall be solely at the risk of the competitor.

PARAMEDICS
All events have Qualified First Aid Medics, as well as Paramedics who can treat and give pain relief on site, so anyone injured in pain does not need to wait until an ambulance arrives, they can be treated immediately.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

AWARDS & GIFTS
Competitors may only receive their medals whilst standing on the podium with the other competitors who placed in their division. If a competitor does not do this they will not receive their medal at a later date and this action may also cause a disciplinary result, potentially banning a competitor from competing in other divisions at the same tournament - due to bad sportsmanship. Competitors that are eligible for a gift, prize, T-shirt or other awards must collect them on the day of the competition. If they are not collected on the day of the tournament, the competitor is forfeits their right to all gifts, prizes, T-shirts or other awards.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

REFUND POLICY
Only competitors that have selected "Merge Me" and are unable to be merged after Check & Change Day will be eligible to receive a full refund (minus transaction fees) as a coupon credit. Compeitors that have selected "Remain & 50% Credit" who have not withdrawn after the The Last Day to Check, Change & Withdraw deadline will only recieve a 50% refund as a coupon credit. However if a competitor misses their weight or does not attend, they are not eligible for a refund.

Any competitor that decides to withdraw from the competition prior to the Early Bird deadline, may recieve a 100% refund in their paypal account. After this date any competitor that withdraws from the comptition prior to the Check, Change & Withdraw deadline, may receive 100% of their fee refunded as a coupon credit. Competitors seeking the entry fee re-compensation must do so before the Check, Change & Withdraw option closes or they will be unable to. No entries will be transferred or credited. There are no refunds or credits for this event, no exceptions. You will not be entitled to a refund or credit, regardless of whether or not you participate. By paying for your registration you will be put into a bracket and be called to compete on the day of competition. You will lose your first match by disqualification if you do not show up for your match, do not have an approved uniform, do not make the minimum qualification for that bracket, are required to isolate or have an injury, Covid-19 or other medical condition that will not allow you to compete. This also includes single competitor categories when your opponent/s have withdrawn from your division. This also includes divisions where all other opponents withdraw, are disqualified or absent and only one competitor remains. In this instance the single competitor will gain points to be nationally recognised, as well as team points, and be awarded the Gold Medal on the podium, and declared the winner.

Choose your divisions carefully. Competitors cannot withdraw from a single division. The only current option is for competitors to withdraw from the entire competition and then re-enter at the price on the date of the new registration.

Competitors that are in Single Fighter Divisions that cannot be merged under the merging guidelines into another division will be issued with a coupon credit (part or in full) to be used at future events.

Refunds and Credits can be obtained by logging into your account and cancelling your event registration
